Group Loan
The strength of the tontine, the solidity of an institution: borrow together, succeed together.
In Cameroon, nobody truly builds alone: the tontine, the group, the neighbourhood association are our first banks. The Group Loan honours that tradition — joint guarantee replaces material collateral, and the whole group carries each member's success.
Features
- The group's joint guarantee in place of classic collateral
- Individual loans within a group envelope
- Progressive amounts: each well-repaid cycle raises the next
- Group meetings supported by our field agents
- Financial education built into the journey
The Group Loan is the meeting of two worlds that understand each other: African solidarity and institutional microfinance. The first brings trust; the second, amounts and duration.
The group that grows together
Cycle after cycle, the group's envelope grows with its reputation. Groups that started with modest loans now finance activities no single member would ever have reached alone — the multiplier effect of organised solidarity.
Our agents join your meetings
The group loan lives in the field: our agents attend meetings, teach essential financial notions and accompany the hard moments. The bank is part of the circle.

Frequently asked questions
What exactly does joint guarantee mean?
Each member commits for all: if one hits difficulty, the group supports them and guarantees the instalment. It's a real responsibility — and it's what replaces material collateral.
How is the loan shared within the group?
Each member receives an individual loan matched to their activity and capacity, within the group's envelope. Amounts need not be identical.
Our tontine has existed for years — does that count?
Enormously: a group proven in the tontine has already demonstrated the collective discipline that makes a group loan succeed. Bring your history, even informal.
Why prior group savings?
It plays three roles: proof of collective capacity, a safety fund, and the habit of regular financial meetings before the loan.
